Ecotherapy is an evidence based therapeutic approach that explores the healing power that nature provides. In ecotherapy there is a belief that people are connected and impacted by the natural environment. Nature based therapy can ideally take place in an expansive natural setting (I offer seaside therapy groups on Cape Cod during the summer). When a large natural setting is not possible, nature therapy is still available in alternative capacities such as access to a window, guided imagery exercises and sound. Nature plays an important role in our well being and I often work with patients to reclaim their sense of balance through connection and activity in nature.
Gestalt therapy is a relational and humanistic form of psychotherapy that is highly experiential with a focus on the therapist-patient relationship. In a session with a gestalt approach I would likely offer experiments, encourage you to notice present feelings and sensations and we would pay close attention to your body language during the session. Gestalt focuses on the here and now with less importance on past events. The goal is to become aware of your experience and perceptions & to notice your response to the present moment. Gestalt therapy promotes opening yourself to more choices and to actively challenge the roadblocks that have gotten in the way of your well-being.
Trauma and chronic stress directly affect our nervous system and ability to be fully present. This can show up in our lives as anxiety, exhaustion, rumination, disordered relationships, chronic health issues and feelings of just being on autopilot. Somatic work during a session might look like exploring your mind body connection together, paying close attention to the breath, resourcing (locating images and feelings that you already have that promote a feeling of calm), movement and exploration of the emotions associated with traumatic experiences, to name a few.
Dreamwork is a particular way to explore a dream with a focus on images, emotions and symbols in the dream versus a rigid interpretation. By exploring dreams in a session the dreamer can gain deeper understanding and clarity about their experiences, emotions and needs. Dreamwork is a powerful tool towards self discovery. In a session we cannot redream the dream but we can reenter it. By re-experiencing the dream in this way the dreamer is able to slow down and discover qualities of the dream that may have been discounted initially.

My style is experiential, directive and skill based. reflective of my extensive training in Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, Dreamwork, and Somatic techniques.
Being a member of a group provides an opportunity to be seen and to experience sharing space with others. If this form of healing interests you contact me to see if there is space in a current group.
The group experience can help answer questions many of us carry such as:
How do I know who I am?
Do I know how others react to me?
Am I comfortable with myself?
Do I express all of my feelings?
Am I able to say “yes”, “no”?

My 45 minute individual session fee is $225.
Group therapy is $75 per 90 minute sessions.
Clients pay for their sessions using their credit cards via a HIPAA compliant platform
I am an out of network provider and do not work with insurance companies. If your plan allows for out of network benefits I can produce a superbill each month for you that you can send on to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please confirm your insurance benefits before we begin working together.
Cancellations require 48 hour notice in writing. While I will always try to reschedule with you for the same week, due to my schedule it is not guaranteed. Any cancellation made with less than 48 hours notice for any reason, will result in the full session fee being charged.
